Getting to the Army Post RV Park was quite a challenge (see the post for this location). This was a one-night-stay where we visited the Alamo and the San Antonio River Walk.

The entire drive was on freeways with the first 60% of the drive going through the massive freeway system of Dallas, Texas. We went right through the middle of Dallas. Luckily, the traffic was not super-busy at 9:30 in the morning. It still is a demanding trip with the 46-foot long Jayco Seismic tracking beautifully behind us.

We drove for five hours from West Memphis, Arkansas (just across the Mississippi River from Memphis, Tennessee), to Texarkana, Texas. Our KOA campground is about 100 feet across the border into Texas. The drive along Highways 40 and 30 were very busy with large numbers of trucks going both directions. It was super-busy as we passed through Little Rock (the capital) and Benton, Arkansas. Getting into our camping spot was very easy and getting out tomorrow should be equally as easy.

We drove a short 150 miles from Dickson, Tennessee to the Tom Sawyer RV Park in West Memphis, Arkansas. We started out with light rainfall and that rainfall increased as we got closer to Memphis. Seems that Hurricane Delta has moved north after making landfall in Louisiana and is not impacting the Memphis area with rainfall and winds up to 30 mph. The roads were excellent and the drive only took us three hours and fifteen minutes to complete the trip.

The day was beautiful with no winds, 70 degree temps, and clear skies. The mountains were beautiful with some color and the substantial mountains changing to rolling hills as the day progressed.

Today we drove for 199 miles from Friendship Village in Bedford, Pennsylvania to Flatwoods KOA in Sutton, West Virginia. The drive was uneventful (which is the way we like them). The weather was nearly perfect and the skies were perfectly clear. We did encounter headwinds of about 15 mph for the entire trip though. The Flatwoods KOA was easy to get into and only had about six campers there.

Today, Monday, September 5, 2020, we drove about 290 miles from Belden Hills Campground in Bernardston, Massachusetts to Friendship Village Campground in Bedford, Pennsylvania. The drive took a little over six hours and there were not issues on the trip. The trailer and truck are working flawlessly (knock on wood). We plan to stay in Bedford for two days to take a little rest before moving farther south through West Virginia to Kentucky and then into Tennessee.

On Sunday, October 4, 2020, we drove for about five hours from Travelers Woods in Bernardston, Massachusetts to Belden Hills Campground in Harpursville, New York. It took about five hours to make the trip. The weather was awesome, although a little on the cool side at around 50 degrees. The drive went extremely well with no issues. We are heading back to the west.

The drive started out a little rainy, but improved throughout the day. The drive was uneventful and fun. Good roads. We are on our way back to California. Heading South to Tennessee.

We had a four-hour drive of 167 miles today to travel from Greenfield, Massachusetts to Johnson, Vermont. The roads were excellent for most of the trip with some areas of construction that had to be navigated. The skies were blue and the weather was in the low 70s for the trip. Also, the trees and foliage are changing in color and made the trip very beautiful.

After that, the weather steadily improved as we drove west. The drive was uneventful and the entire truck and trailer combination performed perfectly.
