The drive from Cody, Wyoming to Hardin, Montana was uneventful; just the way we like it! Took about three hours and we went through Billings which is an oil refining town. Hardin is in the rolling hills of southern Montana and is only 15 miles from the Little Big Horn where Gen. Armstrong Custer and his cavalry were wiped out by the Sioux Indians. We plan to go see this area tomorrow.

Thunderstorms - We could see the storm coming and the winds went from light to between 40 and 50 mph in just a matter of a couple minutes. There was considerable lightning to the north as this storm did not come directly over us; thank goodness, it was bad enough. I was concerned about whether or not our trailer would stay upright, but it "weathered" the storm. Lisa and I were both nervous about how our RV would hold up to this storm since the winds were hitting us directly broadside. The RV rocked and rolled, but managed to stay upright. Thunderstorms on the plains are something to behold. Extremely high winds, pelting rain, and lots of lightning/thunder. Definitely another aspect of our wonderful journey.
