Thursday, September 8, 2020 - We drove for five and a half hours and 265 miles to arrive at Elkhorn Campground in Frankfort, Kentucky. We drove through a large portion of West Virginia today a about half way across Kentucky. The day was beautiful with no winds, 70 degree temps, and clear skies. The mountains were beautiful with some color and the substantial mountains changing to rolling hills as the day progressed.

This is a one-night lay-over as we travel from east to west. Our goal is to get to Memphis, Tennessee and to spend some time there. We have a tour of Graceland scheduled along with a riverboat tour of the Mississippi River. We also plan to have dinner (our 17th wedding anniversary dinner) on Beale Street in Memphis. Beale Street is a key tourist area with lots of clubs and dining facilities.
