We drove from Terlinqua, Texas to El Paso, Texas in about six hours to the Fort Bliss Army Post Family Camp. This is the RV park that we departed from last April to begin our journey to the northeast. We drove from Terlinqua to the town of Alpine where we head north on Highway 118 to the town of Fort Davis. We then turned southwest and drove to the town of Marfa to intersect Highway 90. We could have simply turned on Highway 90 in Alpine, but there is a railroad underpass that is within one inch of the height of our RV. For this reason, we drove and extra 20 miles to Fort Davis to get around this underpass. We were at this park for five weeks while Covid had everybody hiding out and not traveling. It is very interesting to be back where we started and to know the roads in this areas as well as we do.

We washed the truck as soon as we got to Fort Bliss. The post has a very nice Self Serve Car Wash. Our truck had accumulated a lot of dirt and bugs since we last washed it. It feels so much better to have a truck and trailer that is clean; both seem to function better. After returning to the RV park, we started our laundry; we are parked about 100 feet from one of the camp laundry facilities. The washers cost $1.50 and the dryers are $1.00 per load. It is nice to have several washers and dryers for our convenience.

We plan to meet up with Elmer and Karen Feick. We met them while we were here before and went bicycle riding and hiking with them. The are awesome people and we are looking forward to getting together.

This family camp is right next to a freeway and the noise is pretty significant. This is quite a change from Terlingua, Texas which is on the border of Mexico and has no freeways, fast-food, traffic lights, sidewalks, or large buildings. It is super quiet at night and it is also noted for being one of the darkest places in America if you like to look at the stars at night. It is completely quiet in Terlingua.
