Saturday, August 13, 2022 - We depart and drive to Tok, Alaska and the Tundra RV Park. We have stayed at this park before, so we knew right where we were going. The weather was very nice, so the entire drive was in partly cloudy skies and good visibilities. The temps were in the 50s when we left and were in the mid 80s as we arrived in Tok. This is likely the hottest day we have had this season.

After arrival, we got the bikes out of the RV and prepped for a ride. Before our ride though, we had a couple of things to do. First, we had to go purchase some strong tie-down straps as a gift for Jim Bucknell who had helped us immensely when we broke a shackle on our way to Alaska near Haines Junction. By mistake, we had kept one of his straps, so we wanted to return his strap and give him a couple more as a gift for helping us. We then went to the office at the Tundra RV Campground to use their WiFi to get some chores done. We had to transfer some money in our bank accounts and I also used the time to load a long video on the blog.

After the computer work was done, we hopped on a paved trail that parallels the Alcan heading towards Fairbanks. The trail continues for 11 miles to the north of town. At that point, were turned around and proceeded back into town. This was the first time that we had been on a bike in about three weeks and it felt good. Along with the other riding around town, we managed to get in a total of 26 miles on this ride. I then worked on the computer for a couple of hours.

Sunday, August 14, 2022 - We depart Tok, Alaska for a pull-out near Kluane Lake where we plan to "boondock" for one night. We have boondocked at this location on the way up to Alaska and it was beautiful. This is a drive of about six hours.
