Monday, August 8, 2022 - We drive from Seward to Anchorage, Alaska without incident. The weather is rainy, but it is still beautiful with the clouds hovering around the tops of the mountains. We have not trouble getting onto the base and finding a spot at the campground. Setup was uneventful and the RV has been working flawlessly for the entire trip of three weeks with Bob and Charlotte Capp.

Tuesday, August 9, 2022 - We all get up a little later than usual and decide as a group that we are not up for another drive to Whittier, Alaska today. Lisa, Charlotte and I took a nice four mile walk around the base. We then decide to just relax around the RV today and then go out to dinner to acknowledge Bob and Charlotte's last night with us. We decided to go to the local Texas Roadhouse for meat. Strangely enough, none of the four of us is really excited about eating fish. We like it when it is fresh or part of fish and chips, so it off for beef we go. The meal at TR was excellent and the server was exceptional. It was an excellent ending to a very relaxing day. We all hi the hay early since we had to get up at 3:30 am to take Bob and Charlotte to the airport.

Wednesday, August 10, 2022 - We depart at 4:15 in the morning to take Bob and Charlotte to the airport for their 6:00am departure for Dallas. It was really sad to see the leave, but we had such a great time while we were here with us. They are on their way to hotter temperatures in Dallas where it is about 50 degrees warmer than here in Anchorage.

After Bob and Charlotte left, we basically did chores around the RV and then prepared the RV to take it to the repair shop on the next morning.

Thursday, August 11, 2022 - We deliver the RV to the company, 6RobbLees, to have the equalizers and wet-bolts replaced on the suspension of the RV. They were due to be changed and the company did a great job of replacing them . They also found a crushed wire that precluded the brakes from functioning on one of the tires. The new wet-bolts are stronger than the originals and should hold up for quite some time. While the RV was being fixed, Lisa and I did the laundry and then went to the Warrior Center at JBer to work on the blog and some of our finances. The WiFi at JBer is fantastic. I was able to upload some of the photos that I have been taking over the last six weeks. We also went to the JBER Auto Hobby Shop and changed the oil in the truck. It saves us a ton of money to do the oil changes ourselves.

Friday, August 12, 2022 - We started this day by running errands in preparation for our departure from Anchorage to work our way back to the states. We converted the "garage" part of our trailer from a bedroom back into a garage so that we could load the kayaks and bikes before traveling. We then went to WalMart to get food and supplies for the first legs of our trip. We also purchased some gift cards for a series of birthdays that are coming up in the family. We then went to see Doug and Nancy Linebaugh who had been so nice to store our kayaks and bikes while we were our with Bob and Charlotte Capp. Now it was time to pick up the gear and load it into the RV. Once the loading was complete, we rested for a while before going to pick up Doug and Nancy to take them to dinner at a local Mexican restaurant. We had a great evening meal with Doug and Nancy and talked about their plans to return to the states and ours too.

Saturday, August 13, 2022 - We depart Anchorage for the lower 48, by driving to Tok, Alaska via Glennallen.
