Saturday, August 6, 2022 - The weather is nice with some high clouds as we drive from Elmendorf AFB near Anchorage to Seward, Alaska. The four hour drive was uneventful with very nice the weather. No issues with the rig. The Seward Military Resort is a very nice facility. They have spaces for RVs, motel-like rooms, large suites, and even some Yurts. It is a little pricey, but the facilities are great.

Sunday, August 7, 2022 - Lisa and I went on a nice 2.5 mile walk through residential area in west of the RV park. After that, we took Bob and Charlotte Capp into town to board their boat for their four hour tour of Resurrection Bay. Bob and Charlotte had a great time on their boat tour of Resurrection Bay. They saw Steller sea lions, puffins, harbor seals, humpback whales, a mountain goat, eagles, a falcon, sea otters, and more. The weather for the tour was pretty good until they received sprinkles of rain as they were pulling back into port. Overall, it was a trip well worth the cost.

Lisa and I took a tour of the Seward Marine Center. While there, we saw seals, a Steller sea lion, puffins and lots of other types of water birds, simulated tidal pools, various types of rock fish, various types of salmon, sea urchins, star fish, and much more. It was fun seeing the different types of fish swimming in the huge aquariums that they have there. I went mostly for puffin photos, but the puffin pool was closed to protect the birds from avian diseases. This forced me to take photos through windows that had water on them or lots of glare.

I made beef stew for dinner and it worked our very well. Beef stew on a little bit of a rainy day. Makes it nice to be cozy with good food on a drippy day.

Monday, August 8, 2022 - We depart for Anchorage and the Black Spruce RV Park at JBER. The weather is rainy and it rains all the way back to the base. We had been planning to go to a campground near the town of Girdwood so that we could visit the town and Whittier too, but the campground was full and we could not get into any site. It was just as well since we were all getting a little tired after three weeks of aggressive traveling and activities.
