Saturday, August 20, 2022 - We drove from Skagway to Watson Lake via the Carcross Cutoff. The Carcross Cutoff saves us about 50 miles of travel back to Whitehorse and then on to Watson Lake. The Cutoff is a great road with great views along the way. After we arrived in Watson Lake, we decided to stay at the Downtown RV Park. It is just an open field with power and water available. While there, we met Archie, the host, at the Downtown RV Park. He is quite a character and was also very helpful to Lisa and me while we were there. Met also met a former F-15 pilot named William. We had some great conversations. He was also working on the wheels on his Airstream trailer so I, lent him my torque wrench to torque the lug nuts on the rig. He left while we stayed an extra day.

Sunday, August 21, 2022 - Today, we worked on chores to prepare us for our trip down the Cassiar Highway. We bought food to re-stock our shelves and then washed the truck (it really needed a bath). I also got out the compressor and pumped up the tire pressure in the RV tires. I also took this as an opportunity to fill up our propane tanks. We get about three to four weeks of service out of our propane tanks after filling.

Monday, August 22, 2022 - We depart Watson Lake for Dease Lake on the Cassiar/Stewart Highway #37.
