The 30-minute drive from Beale AFB to the Thunder Valley Casino in Rocklin, CA was uneventful. At the casino, were allowed to park wherever we liked in one of their large parking lots. It is all "dry camping" or "boondocking." There are no services available. We use our generator for power and holding tanks for water. We do not hook up to a sewer system, so we wait for the next available RV park where this service is available.

The casino is nice enough to allow us to spend three days in the parking lot free of charge. We could extend the stay by contacting security and explaining our situation. They have a huge lot and are not overloaded with RVs. We used this time to see family members and get Lisa's second COVID vaccination shot. On Sunday, May 2nd, after Lisa's second shot, we drove back to the casino, hooked up the trailer, and began our next journey by heading for the Bear Mountain RV Park south of Bakersfield, CA. This would be only an overnight stay (we have stayed here several times) as we would be leaving the next morning for Quartzsite, Arizona. We did not even disconnect the RV from the truck; just used the front landing gear to take the weight off the truck. Sites are level and easy to access.
