Monday, October 17, 2022 - We begin our journey for the fall of 2022 and the spring of 2023 by leaving the Rocklin area to visit with the Dickey family in the Atwater/Merced area. We will be staying at the Castle AFB Air Museum RV Park.

Tuesday, October 18, 2022 - We travel to Jeff and Cherekee's home to visit with them. Cherekee was involved in activities, but Jeff was at their home getting chores done. We visited with Jeff for about two hours. It was a great visit. Jeff's son, Jeffrey, also stopped by and we had a chance to visit with him too.

We also were able to have dinner with Ed and Janie Dickey, Judy Dickey, and Jeff and Cherekee Dickey. Jeff and Cherekee's granddaugher, Alex, also came to dinner and it was great to see her too. Alex is a senior in high school and will soon be attending college. This was a great chance to see everyone again.

Wednesday, November 19, 2022 - Lisa and I took the bikes and drove to Yosemite National Park to go on a bike ride. We drove up Highway 140 through El Portal and entered the park at the Arch Rock entrance. We went to the visitor center where we parked and then began our ride to Mirror Lake and then through the parks main roads. We ended with a 20 mile bike ride. We celebrated by buying some ice cream at the visitor center store and really enjoyed it. It was a beautiful day with clear skies and excellent views of Half Dome and El Capitan. There were some climbers on El Capitan which is always exciting to watch. It was a fun drive and an excellence day at Yosemite. The water levels at the falls was understandably low.

Thursday, October 20, 2022 - Lisa and I decided to drive to Fresno, California to explore the Forestierre Underground Gardens. This underground series of rooms and gardens was dug and created by hand by a man named Baldassare Forestiere over a 40-year period of time. He dug for 17 years while working a day job as a ditch digger, and then worked full-time for another 23 years on his project. He created a "resort" where people could come to relax and enjoy the serenity of his underground rooms. It is really fun to visit and it even has a ballroom and a three-level aquarium. You would never expect to see this facility hidden away in the north part of Fresno, CA.

After the visit to the Forestiere Underground Gardens, Lisa and I picked up my brother. Jeff, and we went to the Castle Air Force Base Food Truck vendors where we had a great Mexican food lunch. The trucks provide great food for the general public. After lunch, we went back to Jeff's ranch and did a driving tour of his land; it was fun.

Friday, October 21, 2022 - Lisa and I met with Jeff and Cherekee, Ed and Janie, and my sister, Judi Dickey for breakfast at the Brooks Ranch restaurant in Atwater, CA. This was our last time to get together before we returned to the Sacramento area to visit with family before leaving for Reno and parts east.

After our breakfast, we returned to the RV to hook up and depart for the Thunder Valley Casino parking lot where we planned to stay for the weekend while visiting with friends and family.
