Saturday, October 5, 2024 - Today we drove for seven hours from Winslow, AZ to Tucson, AZ. This was the last leg of our three-month journey for this year. We took Highway 87 from Winslow because it was supposed to be more scenic. Quite a few climbs and descents. The on-ramp to I-10 in Phoenix was blocked, so we drove to Appache Junction and then to Florence. This took us about an hour more traveling time. Ended up with just over seven hours of driving and the temperatures from Phoeniz to Tucson were about 105 degrees Fahrenheit. DM is pretty much empty which is understandable due to the hot weather. In about a month, it will start to fill with people wishing to stay for the winter.
