Thursday, July 7, 2022 - We drove for four hours to arrive at the Montana Creek Campground near on Highway 3 just 14 miles west of Talkeetna, Alaska. The drive was uneventful with overcast skies and no rain. The road between Fairbanks and Talkeetna is of much better quality.

After we parked the RV, we decided to take a trip into Talkeetna and explore the town. Talkeetna is a quaint little town where three major rivers come together. There is an airport there to take tourists to Denali and there is also a railroad depot for the railroad that travels from Anchorage to Fairbanks and other locations. We had a nice lunch at a pizza parlor with outdoor seating and live music. It was fun and the musician was very good. He played many songs that we remember. We walked around town to do a little shopping, but Lisa only bought a couple of pairs of earrings. We do not need many of the things that are sold in these tourist towns. There is a paved bike trail along the 14 mile road back to our RV. We wanted to ride the trail, but between weather and time, we did not get the chance. When we got back to the RV, we just relaxed and planned out our next day's trip to Anchorage.

Friday, July 8, 2022 - We begin the drive to Anchorage, Alaska and the Black Spruce RV Camp on Joint Base Elmendorf Richardson. This trip should take between three and four hours.
