Wednesday, May 11, 2022 - We drove to Bridgeport, Washington and then south to Wanatchee, Washington and then about 15 miles west to Cashmere, Washington. The route traveled along the edge of the Columbia River that is extremely scenic and there are apple and cherry farms all over the place. The main attraction in this area is the town of Leavenworth just to the west of Cashmere. Leavenworth is a Bavarian style city and offers quaint shops for clothing and other tourist related items. We set up the RV at the Fairgrounds and everything went well. There is a large Medieval Renaissance Fair scheduled at the fairgrounds this weekend. Apparently, the park will be pretty full. Then, during the following week, there will be a large group of RVers meeting here for a Grand Design RV convention. That should be pretty cool. Already, there is a Grand Design Solitude parked right in front of us.

We also just learned that Ryon and Sue Owens who live in Nampa, Idaho just bought a new GMC Denali truck and a Grand Design Solitude. We are looking forward to having some time to travel with them in the future. This is exciting.

COVID FINDS US; FINALLY:

Well, I guess it was bound to happen sooner or later. We received a texted from Bill and Gina DeWebber and they both tested positive for Covid. They also said that their mom, Ann, has tested positive too. It seems that Gina has acquired some pretty tough symptoms like a pretty bad cold, but Bill and Ann seem to have minimal symptoms, so far. That is really great news. We then got an email from Bob and Charlotte Capp and it seems that they both tested positive for Covid too. So far, they are both dealing with it pretty well with symptoms, but not major ones. Lets hope it stays that way. So, yesterday, Lisa and I were exploring the town of Leavenworth, Washington, a Bavarian Village themed town, and we both discussed that we did not feel very well; tired and light-headed. We decided to go back to the RV to get some rest. As we started to leave the town, we got the texts from Bill and Bob about their Covid, so we decided to stop at Safeway and buy some Covid tests. When we arrived home, we both took the tests and they came out negative. Good news for us. Overnight, Lisa exhibited more symptoms of a cold, so today she took another test. It came out positive, so we are resting and isolating. We knew it was bound to happen sooner of later. Recent studies have shown that over 98% of people in the country have had Covid or the vaccinations. So now we have to plan to get through the symptoms and then lay low so as not to spread the disease. We will be wearing masks until we test positive. We will be heading over to Sand Point, Idaho on Saturday and we are scheduled to be there for a week, so we can isolate there. There is too much going on at this RV park over the next two weeks for us to stay hear. It will be great to put this behind us and then head for Canada.

Thursday, May 12, 2022 - We both lay around the RV for the entire day and just relax. Lisa has a fever of 101.6 and a very runny nose. Her eyes are watering and she feels tired. Like a regular cold. She wants to sleep all day. So, she did. I did not have a runny nose or watery eyes, but I had chest congestion and felt fatigued. Due to the fatigue, I relaxed for the day too. We are just trying to shake the symptoms. We did not need to contact a med facility or take any prescribed meds. Lisa took some Advil and we both took some Melatonin to help us sleep.

Friday, May 13, 2022 - We spend another day laying around the RV trying to shake the Covid bug. Luckily, it is a rainy day, so it does not feel like we could have done much anyway. So, another total day trying to get better and eating chicken soup. Tomorrow we leave for the Sand Point, Idaho area. We plan to isolate there to get over the bug and then get back out on the hiking, biking, and kayaking road.

Saturday, May 14, 2022 - We depart Cashmere, Washington for Athol, Idaho near Sandpoint.
