Wednesday, July 28, 2021 - We drove from Buffalo, Wyoming to Billings, Montana. Lots of smoke in the air from fires in the region created a trip with a great reduction in visibility. No problems were encountered and we were able to back into our spot pretty easily. After parking the rig, we drove over to Costco to buy some food and other needed items. We hardly ever go to Costco because there are very few of the around and we cannot buy in bulk anymore.

After the Costco trip, we returned to the RV to begin cleaning it. I washed the nose-cap and we both began work on waxing the rear garage door. We are getting some oxidation back there, so we are using rubbing compound on it. We got about half of it done before quit to have dinner and relax.

Thursday, July 29, 2021 - We came to Billings and made it a two-day stay because we wanted to take the drive to Red Lodge and then up and over Beartooth Pass to Cooke City and the northeast entrance to Yellowstone. We had heard that it is a very beautiful drive. This road over Beartooth Pass is U.S. Route 212 and is referred to as the All-American Road. We drove to Red Lodge from Billings and then we went up over the pass and drove to Cooke City right next to the northeast entrance to Yellowstone. We are so happy that we made the drive. This road is absolutely gorgeous and is right up there with the "Going to the Sun Road" in Glacier National Park. We flew the drone for photos and videos as well as taking lots more photos with our Nikon and GoPro. I intend to create a video on this trip, so be sure to check it out when it is posted.

As we began the climb up the mountain, we encountered several bicyclists making the long climb up to Beartooth Pass. We stopped to talk to these riders along the way and got to know them pretty well. They are great cyclists who, I believe, came from the Minneapolis area. They were excellent climbers and had a very nice lady providing SAG support for the riders. They stated that the ride is long, but it is only six percent on the average in gradient. That is something that I think I could do and I plan to climb this road in the future if I can get back to the area.

Friday, July 30, 2021 - We depart Billings for Anaconda, Montana. We don't have reservations there, but there is a "first come, first served" city park site that allows RVs; even large ones. We are going to give that a try.
